Experience Gold Coast’s blissful Hinterland and Mount Tamborine. Located one hour’s drive from the Gold Coast, the Hinterland is one of the regions best kept secrets.  Arrive at the top of the mountain in time for morning tea. Delicious fresh scones, served with jam, cream, tea and coffee await at a mountain top restaurant.  It is then time to stretch the legs and take a fully guided leisurely bush walk to the mountain’s only spring fed waterfall. Discovering the lush subtropical rainforests and the forest’s unique characteristics, how the Aboriginal people gathered food from the forest floor and the animals and birds that call the area home.  Sample some wines at Witches Falls, one of Queensland’s top wine cellars. Enjoy a relaxed picnic style lunch and at O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards.  Local gourmet food, O’Reilly’s artisan wines and the picturesque Creekside setting make for a perfect way to end to the day.

The gorgeous Tallebudgera Creek is undoubtedly one of the best places to Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) on the Gold Coast. Running alongside the southern end of Burleigh’s National Park headland, this picturesque waterway has an added wild and remote feeling.  SUP is possible for everybody to experience, learn very quickly and a great way to get together and have fun with your APAA colleagues.  The 1.5 hour SUP hire begins with a demonstration and instruction, followed by free time to explore and paddle at your own pace.  It is then a short walk to the Tallebudgera Surf Club for a relaxed lunch and beverage, overlooking the beach.

RACV Royal Pines Resort offers world-class golfing for both the amateur and serious golfer.  The course comprises of three immaculately groomed 18-hole composite courses set amongst countless lakes and bunkers on undulating terrain. Home to the PGA Australian Championships and the RACV Australian Ladies Masters, which is been a permanent fixture on the women’s professional golfing calendar every year. Enjoy the challenge and camaraderie on the course, following by lunch and refreshments in the clubhouse.

Departure Point

All tours will depart from The Star, Gold Coast main entrance. Please assemble 15 minutes prior to your tour departure time at the meeting point. Please note, tours can not wait for late arrivals and you may be required to make your way to the tour location at your own expense.

Dress Code

Dress Code

The dress code for all excursion options is casual. Average temperatures are 17°C to 26°C (63°F to 79°F) with 67% humidity. All tours are outdoors, and casual clothing and sun protection is recommended. It is not recommended to wear suits. Shorts and t-shirts are acceptable. You can refer to your individual tour to see what else you many need to wear or bring, including if enclosed shoes are required. It is highly recommended to bring a hat and sunglasses for sun protection for all tour options.

We highly recommend to not bring any valuable items on any tours as there is likely to be no secure storage available. APAA, the organisers or any tour operator are not responsible for any personal items and they cannot be held responsible should you bring any personal or valuable items to the tour. All responsibility is on the registrant to ensure all personal or valuables are kept on their persons at all times.

Conference Tours Terms & Conditions

These tours are designed by Arinex Destination Management (license No. 2TA001144), are for participating delegates and accompanying persons of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association Council Meeting 2021 (APAA 2021)

All sightseeing tours include informative English speaking commentary, all entry fees and meals where specified. Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended for all tours. For any outdoor tours we recommend that participants bring sun protection cream, sunhat and sunglasses.

All tours are based on a minimum number of participants. If minimum numbers are not reached, alternative arrangements or a complete refund will be made. Places on all tours are limited and will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of payment. Where participants cancel their tour bookings prior to 24 September 2021, payment will be refunded in full. Thereafter, no refunds will be made.

Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance is strongly recommended and should be arranged by each delegate
