Host City

The name says it all – the Gold Coast is a city touched by gold with a mild subtropical climate delivering blue skies almost year round. With more than 300 days of sunshine every year, visitors enjoy wonderfully mild winters, warm autumns and springs and sun-drenched summers.

Famous for an unrivaled range of entertainment and attractions, the Gold Coast is known as Australia’s favourite playground. The attractions of the Gold Coast are diverse and colourful in nature: beaches with unique beauty, fantastic foreshore areas and walks, a high-rise dominated skyline, exhilarating theme parks and a world heritage rainforest waiting for your exploration. It is true that the Gold Coast is home to the largest subtropical rainforest remnant in the world and more than 100,00ha of nature reserves.

The Gold Coast is home to seven of Australia’s best theme parks, 600 restaurants and cafes, Queensland’s largest shopping centre, over 70 kilometres of pristine coastline as well as an abundance of natural and cultural wonders.

Now with the G:Link, the Gold Coast’s new light rail system, it is easier than ever to explore the surrounding area. For more information about the G:Link click here.
